My 5 Favorite Winter Fashions: A guest Blog written by Shantel Racine

Did somebody say winter? Wow, we blinked, and the year is almost gone. I love winter. In fact, it's my favorite season of the year. Here in Nevada we get to experience the beautiful autumn changing of leaves into crisp falling snow. It’s the best.
But just as wonderful as this change is, is the cool styles that slide their way into my closet. From warm coats, to cute boots, winter fashion has got to be a big part of loving the colder weather for me! And speaking of, I have been eyeing some of the 2021/2022 winter trends hitting the streets that I’m going to be sharing with you, and girl, they are good!
The most prominent change in my closet for winter is layering. And a little hack that’s a big part of that is turtleneck and long sleeve Halftees. They are great for not only added warmth, but give dimension too. As a nursing mama they are so helpful, and they’re the perfect needed layer without the bulk. Oh, and did I mention how comfy they are? You’ll spy quite a few in the outfits I’ll be sharing below!
So, without further ado, here are my 5 favorite winter fashions for this coming season, from my closet to yours!
First up, is a good staple pair of black leggings. They're the best of both worlds combining comfort with chic. We all have that one pair that we won’t part with right? We wear them over and over again. Mostly just for at home and to be comfy. But have you tried a new way of styling them lately? My favorite way I wear them is with a tunic, and jacket or cardigan. Gives off a more put together look but still keeps them true to their lounge character. Don a cute pair of boots or even sneakers for running errands. Whatever your style preference they deliver! If you love an edgier look, black leather leggings are a fun option too. I love how dressed up they can be for a date night or even a winter party with friends.
Light neutral tones are in! I’m one to usually stick with a darker pallet for winter, but after seeing this year’s tans and whites matched, I'm completely obsessed. Not only does it bring out a classier look, but cozy too! I just snagged a cute Khaki sweater from SHEIN and can’t wait to style it! Here's a few ways I’ll be wearing this trend for winter. I especially love the layered looks. White jackets or tan trench coats add a real class, and I adore the beige knit joggers or even a pair of flare jeans with boots.

Turtlenecks have always been a piece that are pretty timeless and wardrobe essentials. Especially turtleneck Halftees for me. And I absolutely love layering with turtlenecks. Not only are they great for the extra colder days, but perfect for adding a different tone to your outfit! They look so good with vests and cardigans or even under a button down for a dressier look. I also love wearing them with overalls for something different. You can tuck in a fitted one for a sleek look or pair an oversized one with leggings for a cozier mood. This is also a great outfit formula to add those statement necklaces too. Here's a few great ways to style turtlenecks!
Sweaters vests started to make a comeback last year, and this season, they are all the rage. And I’m SO here for it. This trend that took fashion by storm in the 70’s is back, but has much improved with some more modern approaches to them now. My favorite ways I've been able to style them is layered with a turtleneck Halftee or white button down. And another fun option I discovered was over a maxi dress. Perfect for less colder places. There are endless possibilities of ways to create a look you adore with sweater vests, here's a few I love!
Last, but definitely not the least: a pair of black denim jeans. The epitome of a “cool” statement piece right? I love how bold they are paired with any top. From oversized sweaters to blazers and even a casual button up shirt, they are a great versatile pair of jeans to have in your wardrobe. Being sleek and classy they’re a showstopper, and rightly so are meant to be. The best part about these, is that they bring on a more edgy aura when layered right. I have a pair that I found that have even a raw hem which adds even more to an outfit. Here’s a few ways I love them styled.

Whether you’re knee deep in snow or just a few degrees below summer temps, cool winter looks can be achieved with lighter or heavier layers! I hope this gives you a little inspiration as we transition into this next season. And might even spark your interest to try a new look outside the box. These 5 pieces I’ve shared are versatile and can be explored in any wardrobe. Which trending winter fashion will you be trying this year?
